Dear Friends of the Barn,
We are excited to announce our 2022 season!
We have been fortunate to add new faces and new music, as well as welcome back many significant talents from near and far.
Please see below an indication of the approximately 30 performances we already have planned, which arch across the musical genres of Classical, Jazz, Singer-songwriter, World Music and more. The arts enrich us in so many ways. A great diversity of performers, composers, and artists is represented in this season’s offerings. Please join us to support their unique voices, as well as the arts in our rural communities.
We feel the Barn offers not only a unique legacy which we would like you to know about, but also distinctive characteristics such as an intimate setting, fine acoustics, tiered seating, a balcony, a Steinway grand piano, and a longstanding international legacy that was recognized with photos essays in the New York Times, People magazine, and network TV spots. Magic happened in this Barn since 1965. It all emanated out of the dynamic talents of Walter Nowick, a very gifted Juilliard graduate who could — and did — move mountains repeatedly.
Back in the 1980s, we formed the dynamic Surry Opera Company, and with Russian and other international counterparts, realized our project “People of the Earth Together!” How much the world has changed since the mid-1980s!
How poignant and timely a cross-cultural project such as “People of the Earth Together” would give us hope in these troubled, tragic times.
Once again, please join us for our outstanding season offerings. Please browse through the list below, which has links to purchase tickets for each concert … or if you prefer to watch/listen rather than read through a list, check out our announcement video and then browse our performance calendar to grab tickets to the concerts you want.
Individual tickets this year are $18 each.
Please go here to look into our 5-pass, 10-pass and 2022 Season Pass options. They offer both savings and convenience. The passes are interchangeable from one person to the next, and are good for any of our performances.
We look forward to seeing you at the Barn soon!
